Marezige, the wine growing village overlooking the Koper Bay, is holding its 51st Refosco and Slovenian Istria Festival between 17 and 19 May.

Focused on the promotion of wine culture, the event culminates in the announcement of the Refošk Champion, accompanied by the coronation of the King of Refošk and a traditional farm wagon parade.

The three-day festival provides an opportunity to taste award-winning wines and local culinary delicacies and meet wine growers, as well as enjoy the entertainment programme with live music.

The first day is aimed in particular at professionals and wine connoisseurs, the second day at youth and promotion of wine drinking culture, and the final day at families.
