William Sweetlove at Arboretum Volčji Potok

Mar 16 - Sept 22

Works by the internationally-acclaimed Belgian artist William Sweetlove and more than 20 other contemporary artists from six countries will be displayed at Slovenia's largest botanical gardens, Arboretum Volčji Potok, and the nearby town of Kamnik during a six-month international art event called Good News.

Art historian Noah Charney, who has been involved in the project, says this is likely the biggest exhibition in Slovenia considering the number of artists and venues involved. The exhibition is concerned with ecology and environmental issues.

Sweetlove is known for his monumental sculptures of animals in bright colours carrying water bottles and wearing rain boots which draw attention to the fragility of the environment. They address both children and adults.

His eye-catching installations will be on show in the Arboretum, with works by other artists on display at several galleries, museum and some other locations in the medieval core of Kamnik, north of Ljubljana.
