Featuring works by the greats such as Ivana Kobilca, Rihard Jakopič, Ivan Grohar, Maksim Gaspari, Gabrijel Stupica, Zoran Mušič and Metka Krašovec, the collection is on public display for the first time.

A total of 61 paintings and five sculptures are showcased, made by 30 Slovenian artists from the second half 19th to the late 20th centuries.

The collection has been created by Stane Kropušek, director of the Kroples wood company from Spodnja Sliovnica near Grosuplje, SE of Ljubljana.

The paintings range from mountain landscapes, scenes of Slovenian customs and everyday life, portrayals of figures in intimate settings, still lifes, self-portraits to works with elements of Symbolism, Expressionism and the New Objectivity, and those of moderate modernism.
