Slovenia made history by winning their first ever U18 Women's European Basketball Championship crown, having cruised to the title without losing a single game at tournament in Turkey.

Slovenia beat France 63:61 in a gripping final in Konya on 9 July.

Lea Bartelme scored 22 points for Slovenia, to go with 6 rebounds and 5 assists, and the team's best shooter, Ajša Sivka contributed 20 points and 12 rebounds.

Both Bartelme and Sivka made the All-Star Five of the tournament and Sivka was also named most valuable player.

The team's coach Ernest Novak described the achievement as incredible.

"We played really well throughout the tournament, we grew from game to game and showed incredible maturity in the most important game," he said, congratulating the girls and the staff.
