Maze won gold in the super-G and silver in the super combined and in the giant slalom, trumping another top Slovenian woman skier, Mateja Svet, who won one silver and two bronzes at the World Championships in Crans Montana in 1987.

The US are top of the Schladming medal table with four golds, followed by Austria with two golds and two silvers and France with two golds and one silver.

Maze rounded off her successful appearances at the championships with a stage act. Teaming up with Slovenian musicians in Feel Slovenia Band, she sang her hit "My way is my decision" and Queen's "We Are the Champions" at Saturday's closing ceremony.
